Carputer, you say? Sure, it's a PC built into my car for playing MP3s. Why? Why not? A PC-based MP3 player can do everything those in-dash CDR-based players can do, and a whole lot more. Searchable street maps on CDROM, onboard engine/drivetrain data aquisition and analysis, Video playback, video games and more! When I get done with this system it won't leave you wanting for much...

Made some buttons to control winamp via serial port (no more numpad!). Also came up with a good way to power the carputer to cure the failing keyboard issues and also be able to turn on the computer any time, regardless of where the ignition key is. And as if that wasn't enough, I've got 2 new plugins I'll be using in place of some of the others I had been using. One for the serial buttons, and the other to make the machine remember where winamp is in its song position (and other winamp settings) - to make it act more like a regular cd player.
